Flowers, Barns, Rusty Vehicles, and Randomness–06-25-2018

I hit up Caribou and Presque Isle today, just cuz an met up with my friend, Kasey for lunch.  On the drive home I decided to pull over and take a few pictures.

My next stop! Lupins on the side of the road.

After the lupins, I made a quick pit stop at an abandoned building for a few snaps.

Old Trucks and even older Fire Trucks was the next stop on the side of the road.  I have myself less than 10 mins to shoot what I wanted.  Forces me to be innovated and an economy of shots!

Brilliant Skies and Calm Waters – 06-24-2018

I was sitting in my living room when I saw the light outside changing.  I chase the light often, and I had a good feeling.  Off I went!

I literally jogged to the river last night.  I’d turn, snap a few pictures.  Jog while fiddling with settings.  Turn.  Snap a few pictures.

It’s rare we get those great purples up here, and getting the cast reflection from the sky on the rail was an interesting endeavor!

They sky changes quickly.  One minute you see purples, the next the sky is on fire with orange and reds.

I finally got off the tracks and started the 2nd leg of my job down the potato field road to the water.

Acadian Village, Van Buren, ME–6-20-2018

My mom’s friend, Anne Roy, is an indispensable part of the Acadian Village in Van Buren (<- link to official page).  She and I had chit chatted before, and I wanted to stop in and take a few photos. So finally, I needed a few moments to unwind, this was as good a time as any! There wasn’t a lot of sun, which of course, in houses that had no electricity, presented challenges.

The above house is the Morneault House, donated to the Village by my Grandmother, Norma Beaupre. I’d never been in it, but I do remember “where” the house stood when I was a young tot. I opted on some photos to yank up the ISO, so that in post processing I’d get a grainer feel, that age instead of glossy and shiny.

The church is cute, and has some nifty features.  Next time I need to bring a soft light to help w/the darker aspects of shooting there.

I cannot imagine what school was like in such a schoolhouse, but I can’t see kids now a day sin those small desks and chairs either!

There is truly a little bit of everything at the Acadian Village in Van Buren, ME (<- link to facebook page!). Their exhibits change yearly and Anne is putting together a new and exciting one!

If you have time and are around the area, PLEASE do stop in. If you are interested in Acadian History, or want to spend a short afternoon, and even have a picnic, please stop in. Donations are always welcome as well!

06-16-2018–Backyard Moments

Sometimes your back yard, and a mile radius hands you beauty, you just have to take the time to look.

06-11-2018 – Rusty Remnants

I did some PRN work for Synertx last week, and got out early. So I had spotted this place a while back, so before heading to meet my friend, Jan G, I decided to go snap a few pictures.

Aroostook Randomness–6-2-2018

I headed up to my cousin, Bonnie’s place, for some shallots.  And snagged theses pics.

If you look around, you never know what you’ll see or find.  A run down house can be extraordinary.  A singular, old mailbox, can be stunning.
