Quarantine Day 2! 3.18.2010

I’m not working at the moment, so when my sister in law’s kids were not going to school. I said “I’ll help!”

My SIL has some great props around the house, so today whilst my niece and nephew were doing homework, I took out the camera.

IMG_8736-2IMG_8738IMG_8726IMG_8726-2IMG_8727IMG_8728IMG_8728-2IMG_8728-3IMG_8731IMG_8732IMG_8732-2IMG_8734IMG_8735IMG_8735-2IMG_8736

My niece, Vivian, started to rummage in my camera bag and found all my legos.  We went over all the names, and how to sound them out (She’s 4) – and after a while, I sat by the Typewriter and she brought me each super hero – and we sounded out their names, and she found the 1st letter than correlated to the superhero’s name.  We gotta get creative, right?

So to all the moms and dads who are struggling w/the kids being at home – we got this.  We can all pitch in and support each other from afar and – well, we got this.  Until them – Dream Big Smile

Old Orchard Beach–1-31-2020

First post of the year!  I had to jaunt over to Falmouth, and was thinking “where can I go for some sunset photos?”  OOB – why not!

IMG_8576-2IMG_8574-2IMG_8575-2

OOB is one of those Iconic Maine Scenes.  No one takes the same shot twice, yet – it’s all the same place.

IMG_8581-2IMG_8582-2IMG_8584-2IMG_8593-2IMG_8596-2

The beach was deserted and – COLD!

IMG_8605-2IMG_8607-2IMG_8598-2IMG_8599-2

YES!  Arrow Made an appearance Smile

IMG_8653-2IMG_8612-2IMG_8623-2IMG_8631-2IMG_8640-2IMG_8648-2IMG_8651-2

The light changes so quickly at times when shooting sunset photos – that golden moment.

IMG_8673-2IMG_8654-2IMG_8655-2IMG_8656-2IMG_8672-2

Did I mention it was cold?

IMG_8690-2 IMG_8692-2IMG_8694-2IMG_8696-2IMG_8674-2IMG_8675-2IMG_8679-2IMG_8681-2

Even if it was cold – it was clear and gorgeous and the light faded quickly, shifting from pinks and oranges to deeper blues and purples.

IMG_8715-2IMG_8700-2IMG_8708-2

I stood in this exact spot for almost 5 mins.  Taking photos on the same settings – and waiting – and waiting.  Then in editing, I tried to match up the same lines and close to the same edit settings.

Portland, ME–12-28-2019

A mistaken sent text to Mel, landed me an invite to her new home – whooot!

We headed out for a bit of exploring and I snap some photos, of course!

IMG_8420IMG_8421IMG_8478IMG_8479IMG_8481IMG_8486

From there we went to PHL – I wasn’t feeling any of the areas, 1 – to many PPL!  2 – to  many ppl!!

IMG_8532IMG_8493IMG_8494IMG_8509IMG_8496IMG_8519IMG_8511IMG_8512

The sky changes so quickly sometimes, you think that you are in a different place

IMG_8568IMG_8569IMG_8536IMG_8542IMG_8554

Of course I had to take out the Green Arrow, and My lens ball.  I alternated between the ball and the lighthouse – so I got the colors that shifted in that short, 30 mins.

Rhys Adventures–10-19-2019

Long over due post, right!

IMG_8361IMG_8362IMG_8365IMG_8368

It was a dreary day, but Rhys and I were heading out – we had lunch at Grammy’s and then hit the river trail in Houlton – we had a blast.  I think his pics came out better than mine to be honest.

IMG_8370IMG_8374IMG_8380IMG_8381

The day was chilly, but once we started hiking it warmed up and we found the river trail to be a nice hike, more of a walk to be honest.

Castle In the Clouds and Littleton–10-11-2019

Jules said “no heights” which is limiting if you are in the White Mountains, but I made due!

IMG_8249IMG_8238IMG_8240IMG_8241IMG_8248

If you are ever in NH, this is a great place to go – gives you a wicked sense of what life as a super duper rich person is like.

IMG_8266IMG_8255IMG_8257IMG_8259IMG_8261IMG_8262IMG_8264

Then we hung out in Littleton, did the river walk and waited for the sun to set – worth it!

IMG_8293IMG_8272IMG_8278IMG_8280IMG_8284

IMG_8310IMG_8295IMG_8296IMG_8297IMG_8299IMG_8300IMG_8302IMG_8303IMG_8304IMG_8305IMG_8309

Trip to NH–10-10-2019

We took off to NH for a few days because I wanted Jules to see where I’ve been working for the better part of a year!

IMG_8178IMG_8173IMG_8174

We didn’t stop much, but when we did it was gorgeous!

IMG_8209IMG_8179IMG_8180IMG_8186IMG_8193IMG_8196IMG_8199IMG_8204IMG_8206

I dragged her to The Flume, we had a nice walk and took some great pictures.

IMG_8231IMG_8213IMG_8217IMG_8219IMG_8221IMG_8225

We also drove down the Kanc and then up Crawford Notch.

IMG_8237IMG_8233IMG_8234IMG_8235

Then one of the best sunsets I’ve seen in a while happened.  Overall, a great day!

Ghost Trains–10-4-2019

First off – thank you Nick for leading the way!  You made a dream come true last week, you rock!

IMG_7989IMG_7991IMG_7986IMG_7987

We started out before the sun kissed the horizon.  The train of ppl grew as we moved closer to the area we were heading too.  A big old Grand Isle/Madawaska caravan! With several stops.

IMG_8010IMG_7993IMG_7994IMG_7999IMG_8001IMG_8002IMG_8004

The walk is relatively short, the drive is not!  Worth every moment of it though!

IMG_8026IMG_8014IMG_8015IMG_8017IMG_8018IMG_8019IMG_8020IMG_8020-2IMG_8024

It’s fascinating to walk into the clearing and see these monsters of metal.  And to think of the track laid down, and upkept for all those years.

IMG_8037IMG_8037-2IMG_8027IMG_8029IMG_8030IMG_8030-2IMG_8030-3IMG_8031IMG_8033IMG_8035IMG_8035-2IMG_8036

Awe inspiring.

‘nuff said.

IMG_8061IMG_8063IMG_8038IMG_8042IMG_8043IMG_8047IMG_8048IMG_8049IMG_8049-2IMG_8051IMG_8052IMG_8054IMG_8055IMG_8057IMG_8059IMG_8060

I blew out the background on some photos to get better detail of the trains.  And in some instances, it was hard getting the trains without someone crawling all over them!  Yet, still so much fun!

IMG_8097IMG_8064IMG_8066IMG_8068IMG_8070IMG_8080IMG_8090IMG_8095

The colors were great that day as well, and yes, I brought Arrow with  me!

IMG_8126IMG_8098IMG_8099IMG_8100IMG_8102IMG_8103IMG_8105IMG_8107IMG_8108IMG_8109IMG_8110IMG_8113IMG_8117IMG_8118IMG_8121IMG_8124IMG_8125

Then another short hike to another section of the ghost trains and more phenomenal pictures.

IMG_8147IMG_8148IMG_8127IMG_8128IMG_8129IMG_8130IMG_8132IMG_8134IMG_8135IMG_8140IMG_8142IMG_8143IMG_8144IMG_8145IMG_8145-2

I snagged a few in B/W as well as graded them later in lightroom.  I sometimes think B/W brings out more detail and also gives you that “back in time” feel.

IMG_8150IMG_8151IMG_8152IMG_8155IMG_8160IMG_8163IMG_8165IMG_8167IMG_8171

Then the drive back home, and the day was over.  4 hours there, 4 hours back, about an hour at the trains and all these pictures and good memories to show for it!
